AN EVENING WITH CYNTHIA ROWLEY
Come meet Cynthia Rowley and hear her talk about her latest collection and her new Exhibition A internet art gallery. We’ll be joined by our good friends and partners, the Young Patrons of the American Friends of the Louvre, who will tell us more about their upcoming spring gala. If it’s a nice night, we’ll take the party and prosecco out onto Cynthia’s terrace. As always, Cynthia will donate 10% of any sales to our fund to support the US fashion industry.

A JOURNEY THROUGH THE CREATIVE PROCESS WITH FASHION DESIGNER JOANNA MASTROIANNI
Go on a journey with Joanna Mastroianni as she describes and displays how she creates an entire collection of clothing and accessories, including her latest line for Spring/Summer 2011. Mastroianni is known for the timeless beauty, unerring elegance and artistic quality of her designs. She conceives and handles each item like jewelry, creating collectible pieces to wear forever. Mastroianni will talk with Kathleen Beckett, former Vogue columnist and founder of Friends of Fashion about the creative process. She will explain and show how something as small as a 2-inch cross from Byzantine antiquity can spark a vision that becomes a sketch that ultimately turns into a finished garment that will be on view for up-close inspection and admiration. Mastroianni says her responsibility as a designer is “how do I make women look glamorous and feel great about themselves?” Images of her fans–Alicia Keys, Beyonce, Eva Longoria, Christine Baranski, Felicity Huffman and the cast of Sex in the City 2–reveal that she succeeds, beautifully.
